Who We Are

The Travel Agent Training Center, Inc. is owned and operated by Ashby Harbin, CTC, DS (owner and director). Ashby began her career in the travel industry in 1988 and has worked in many areas of the industry. Her experiences include:

		Travel School Director & Instructor

Since 1993, Ashby has concentrated on the training and education aspect of the industry. She has been an instructor for both theory and computer, assistant director and director of two travel schools. Seeing the need for an on-line education option for the travel industry, she developed this course in 2002. Ashby is also a licensed independent trainer for The Travel Institute formerly known as ICTA (The Institute of Certified Travel Agents) offering continuing education and certification programs for the travel professional. On-line study groups are offered for these programs as well as traditional classroom study groups in Charlotte, NC and various Carolina cities. Ashby is also employed by AAA Carolinas as their Travel Trainer and coordinator of AAA Carolina's Home-Based Agent Program. By working in a travel agency this enables Ashby to stay current with industry news, trends, suppliers and destinations. She is responsible for new hire and on-going development training for all leisure travel agents in the company.
